     It occurs that in the year 2008 the Italian company CIFA celebrates its eightieth anniversary. How comes that the company which possesses 80 year experience developed from the great entrepreneurial endeavor that was undertaken during the difficult years between the two world wars to the major player in building equipment industry branch? Let’s take an insight into history.

Carlo Ausenda established CIFA, "Compagnia Italiana Forme Acciaio" on July 7, 1928. Thanks to ingenious CIFA products such as radio broadcasting antennas and concrete forms the Company was able to prevail.

However, it wasn't until the years between 1947 and 1950 that CIFA truly established its corporate identity, at this time the “Marshall Plan” was enacted for the rebuilding on Italy after the WW2.

So CIFA became a major player in the construction work of concrete hydroelectric dams throughout the peninsula designed to meet the residential and industrial needs for energy. This led to the launching of the motorway plan, where CIFA presented itself as one of the more technically advanced companies on a world scale.

CIFA was established to manufacture and sell forms and structures for reinforced cement and concrete and has achieved constant growth throughout its long history on everything that was related to concrete. Hence, the first Italian truck-mounted concrete mixer was produced and the first pre-mix concrete plants were set up in 1958.

1965 - The first concrete mixing plant trains were performed;
The end of the '60s - the first truck mixer-pumps and the first trolley-mounted pumps;

1975 - the first truck-mounted concrete pump "Magnum" which containes two functions in one machine was produced,

1977 - Residue recycling plants

As well as at The early ‘80s - the first pumps were manufactured.
Thus, CIFA, thanks to its well-established market leadership, has contributed to the Monte Bianco and Gran San Bernardo road tunnels constructing, as well as to the Tirso dam in Sardinia, the High-Speed project railway tunnels and the Aosta-Monte Bianco Motorway scaffolding. In addition, since the ‘60s the concrete machinery and plants CIFA has been involved in projects to build dams, reservoirs and ports in Africa and the Middle East, as well as hydroelectric power stations, dams and tunnels in the Far East, in America and in Australia.

Looking forward and applying experience – this is the principle on which the CIFA business model is based. It is true to say that when you purchase any CIFA product, you will also purchase the long experience and know-how of the Company, whether in the plant industry, transport and pumping industry or in the tunnelling industry.
